CAMBRIDGE ROYAL TOUR

From the intimate courtyards of Queens’ College to the majestic beauty of King’s College Chapel, this 2-hour tour covers two very different royal Cambridge foundations.  Your route will meander through city streets and beautiful, riverside colleges, immersing you in the true Cambridge experience.

In Queens’ College you’ll see the famous “Mathematical Bridge”, the oldest building on the River Cam and a rare example of a sun and moon dial.  Remember to ask your guide to explain why the apostrophe is at the end of the college name!
You’ll discover why it took almost 100 years and 5 monarchs to complete the magnificent King’s College chapel and, once inside, you’ll hear the stories behind intricately-carved stonework and one of Europe’s finest collections of Renaissance stained glass, as well as the daily life of a working college chapel.

Your guide will point out buildings at the centre of Cambridge University: The Old Schools and the Senate House, where all the degree ceremonies take place.  You’ll hear about student pranks and see the Golden Corpus Clock.

Make sure you have your camera ready throughout this tour!
